If
you know that you will be sharing images only through email and the
Internet, you should consider choosing a camera setting that will capture
images that have a resolution of about 640x480. The lower resolution will
allow more images to be saved on a memory card and will make uploading,
sending, and downloading much easier and faster. (NOTE: If there is
some possibility that you or someone else will need to print an image, play
it safe and set your camera to a higher quality setting. Photo editing
software can always be used after the image is captured to resize the
image). |

monitors have a screen resolution of about 72 dpi. An image that has a
resolution of 640x480 will be over 8 inches wide on a computer (640

72). If the image had more pixels, the person viewing it would need to
scroll left, right, up, and down to view the entire image. |
